Manuscript Readines Level

Before you submit your manuscript, we highly recommend that you re-evaluate it using the Manuscript Readiness Level (MRL), an instrument to help make the peer review process more time-effective.

Pre-Evaluation Criteria

1. Title
Straightforward, informative, and representative of the content of the article.
Strong (Level 1): 5  |  Fair (Level 2): 3  |  Poor (Level 3): 2
2. Abstract
Concise, but at least containing the problem, purpose, method, important findings, and implications of the research (and ending with the SDG statement required by the Author Guidelines).
Strong (Level 1): 10  |  Fair (Level 2): 5  |  Poor (Level 3): 2
3. Keywords
Searchable by a search engine and truly representative of the intention of the research. Use single words or short standard terms rather than long phrases. Five keywords are recommended and at least three are mandatory (including the SDG(s) identified in the abstract).
Strong (Level 1): 5  |  Fair (Level 2): 3  |  Poor (Level 3): 2
4. Introduction
Directs the reader to the importance of the research. Presents significant problems, a clear state of the art, gap analysis, and novel concepts to fill the gaps, and ends with the purpose of the research.
Strong (Level 1): 15  |  Fair (Level 2): 10  |  Poor (Level 3): 5
5. Method
Clear and transparent, so that the study can be assessed. Reveals how the research objectives are achieved through the appropriate approach, data or materials, and analytical procedures.
Strong (Level 1): 10  |  Fair (Level 2): 5  |  Poor (Level 3): 2
6. Results
Presents the research findings systematically, depending on the type of research. Findings are presented clearly, with tables and figures where helpful.
Strong (Level 1): 15  |  Fair (Level 2): 10  |  Poor (Level 3): 5
7. Discussion
Meaningful. A good discussion is written as a dialogue that reveals the progress of the research in comparison to previous scholarship.
Strong (Level 1): 20  |  Fair (Level 2): 15  |  Poor (Level 3): 5
8. Conclusion
Contains a summary of the research results (the most important findings) that relates to the objectives stated in the introduction.
Strong (Level 1): 10  |  Fair (Level 2): 4  |  Poor (Level 3): 1
9. References
Accountable and consistent with the Reference and Citation Requirements in the Author Guidelines: at least 25 references, at least 50% from reputable peer-reviewed journals, and prioritizing the last 10 years. Use a reference management tool (Mendeley/Zotero).
Strong (Level 1): 10  |  Fair (Level 2): 5  |  Poor (Level 3): 1

Total Score

Strong: 100  |  Fair: 60  |  Poor: 25

Notes: The Manuscript Readiness Level (MRL) above is used by authors as a tool to optimize the peer review process. The decision to accept or reject an article for publication in Ingenium Journal of Science, Technology and Business (IJSTB) is the authority of the Editor, based on recommendations from reviewers.
